Nicole Gillespie

Executive Director

Nicole Gillespie, Ph.D., is the Executive Director of the Knowles Science Teaching Foundation (KSTF) in Moorestown, New Jersey. Prior to becoming the executive director in 2013, she directed KSTF's Teaching Fellows Program for nine years, the Foundation’s signature program that supports beginning high school science and mathematics teachers.

Prior to joining KSTF, she was a researcher in science education, a high school teacher, an engineer at a startup company, and a naval officer. She has an engineering degree from the United States Naval Academy, a master's in physics from the University of Washington, and a doctorate in science and mathematics education from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Gillespie joined the BSCS Board of Directors in 2015.
